Victor Valente


Blessed with a fat (low tone) alto Saxophone and soulful phrasing Victor has taken his first steps into a living he's dreamed of having for years. Born Feb 7th 1972 in a hard working family, Valente was influenced by greats such as Dizzy Gillespie, Lester Young to Donny Hathaway, Grover Washington jr. and Miles Davis. His sound has been noted for being Funky, Hip Hoppish, Jazzy and soulful. At the young age of 19 Victor began living on his own in New York City Working fulltime as a bike messenger, producer, Dj and engineer for numberous underground Hip Hop artists Such as Shine Head and metaphyiscal. By the age of 25 Victor met up with Richard Lee Sisco (Multi Musician and Music Coordinator to Harry Belefonte' during the filming of the motion picture "Beat Street") who has been his best friend, teacher and mentor. Since then Victor spent most of his time on educating himself musically. In 1999 Victor moved back to Southern Massachussetts due to family and health issues. Currently Victor Valente is looking foward to his independent debut release "Off the Canvas" set for January 20th 2006.
