Biography
Avant

Born Myron Avant in April 26, 1978; in Cleveland, OH. The “New Voice of Ghetto Soul”, entered the music arena with his debut album My Thoughts. This debut album produced the R&B/Hip Hop single “Separated”; which hit the top five Billboard chart. At the age of 22, Avant was the first act signed to Magic Johnson Music. The collaboration between Avant and multi-instrumentalist Steve Huff really highlighted the depth of this singers talent. “My First Love”, originally done by Renee & Angela in 1983; also stood out on this debut album. The strong violin arrangements by veteran Chicago arranger Tom Tom Washington along with the sexy vocals of Avant really did this classic piece proud. In 2002, Ecstasy was released; the union between Avant and producer Steve Huff continued to make Avant a household name. Producing hits like “Makin Good Love” and “Don’t Say No, Just Say Yes”; which continues to add the sexy elements that tantalizes the mind without over doing it. Just one year later, 2003; this talented artist brought yet another hit album, Private Room. Continuing on his road to success and elevating with each project, Private Room has also produced some chart toppers such as “Read Your Mind” and “Don’t Take Your Love Away”.

Biography

In 2006, Avant’s forth album, Director is not only the title, but is exactly what he has become on this project. Avant has taken more creative control over this project than others in the past. On this project, Avant has also worked with several hit making songwriters and producers in order to get different sounds from each of these creative geniuses. It is no surprise that the Director is also a top selling album because Avant has collaborated with Jermani Dupri; longtime writer/producer Steve Huff; Rodney Jenkins and the Underdogs. Adding some Hip Hop flavor, Avant has also teamed up with Lloyd Banks and Lil Wayne. He has also lent his vocal talents to some of his industry peers; such as the Pussycat Dolls remix of “Stickwitz”; Lloyd Banks “Karma”; and the Ying Yang Twins “Bedroom Boom”. Avant has demonstrated staying power in this fast changing Hip Hop culture. He still maintains his stride in “ghetto soul and grown folks sexy”. He continues to give us a variety of songs that indicates to the listening audiences that this singer/songwriter plans to be around for a while.
